I know there have been many threads on GFCC models here. I unfortunately bought one of the earlier 59 Pontiacs in hopes of upgrading it, but did not happen. I just received the Mew version and what a world of difference! I also prefer not collecting resin so this car fit my needs for accuracy and material. I also have the 59 flat top Madison (white metal). The Madison is Vanguard blue and the GFCC is Concord blue.
i shot photos of these cars comparing them and except for the Clear coat finish on the Madison, I think the GFCC holds its own and will sit next to this high end model very nicely.
Now that I have seen this GFCC close up, I will be buying the 56 Roadmaster.
Hope you like the photos!
Excuse my ignorance but just from the photos I can't tell which is which! Can you clarify?
I got the original GFCC Pontiac as a convertible with a not very nice black plastic roof. Apart from that, what improvements have they made?

From what I gather, the Madison is on the left in almost all of the photos, and the GFCC on the right. The "flat top" protrudes over the rear window, while the other does not. I came close to buying this GFCC some time ago.
I have the GFCC 1956 Buick, and, even with the pre-accurate wheels, it looks terrific. I have it on a bottom shelf so they aren't apparent 😉 .

I bought the new GFCC 1959 Pontiac 2 dr htp in white. I am going to turn it into a convertible. My brother's 2nd car was a white '59 Pontiac Parisienne convertible. He has an 80th birthday coming up so I decided to make it for him. Some differences between a Bonneville and Parisienne - Parisienne was built on the shorter Chevrolet chassis and I believe the tail lights are different. The rest is the same except the badging.

Ken I just bought this one today as a result of this post. I had bought two GFCCs previously (Cadillac and Buick) but had decided against getting more because of the generic wheels which IMO detracted greatly. I see this latest '59 Pontiac has different wheels; are they accurate and is this Pontiac the first GFCC model to receive this upgrade?
Hi Guys,
Sorry for confusion, bit in the body of my post, I mention the Madison as a flat top. I think the GFCC rivals the Madison nicely. Also, glad this post has inspired some to get the Pontiac! Cheers
I got the early version and here's my attempt at improving the wheels.
And I made a few variations while I was at it.

I like 1959 Pontiacs and had a 1/24 promo when I was a kid, so any of these '59 wide-track Pontiacs are fine with me ! They are great-looking automobiles.
@jack-dodds. Jack, I think that the wheels on the upgraded version are spot on. All of the chrome trim has been upgraded, no silver paint used. The front grill has been improved and appears to be photo etched .Door handles are separate pieces, not cast into the body, mirrors and separate wipers have been added. Can't beat this level of detail for $30 some dollars and free shipping. The model also includes an acrylic case and chrome plate indicating a 1959 Pontiac Bonneville. I believe that a 1954 and 1955 Cadillac are also available on an upgraded basis since they both come with an acrylic case. GFCC is in the process of releasing an upgraded 1956 Buick 4 dr htp

And speaking of "flat top" Pontiacs, no 1959 on my shelves but I did do this Western Models conversion dating back to 1999 of a 1960. Shown with a Goldvarg sedan conversion here.
