Here is a beautifully done 1/43 diecast replica of the big and powerful Mercury Marauder X-100 for 1969. It is done by Minichamps and was part of the "100 years of Ford" series.
It really looks excellent in it's deep maroon exterior color and displays exceptionally well on it's base. The radio antenna may be a bit high and the tires a little small in diameter, but they are just small nit-picks on such a terrific car and scale model of it.
It's a cool model despite the puny tires, and I've always thought it was a pretty nice car - BUT - I never understood FoMoCo's marketing. Who exactly where they targeting? What demographic wanted a muscle car with skirts, or a "hot rod Mercury" back then? Was Ford ahead of its time? 🤔 🤔 🤔
Nice model and awesome photos.

Fantastic diversity of shots Mike - every one sensational!
Yes, the Minichamps is a nice model of an interesting (if slightly gross!) automobile. I have this version and also the alternative with the matt black boot/trunk.
About a year ago I also got hold of the Ixo version and posted a comparison which you might want to look at if you didn't see it first time around.
