PICS - two MAN trucks
I note that recently there have been some pictures of trucks posted, so I though I'd join in with a couple of MANs - the Aral Tanker is by Minichamps & from Schuco an articulated trailer in Baeren-Marke livery - a very intricate design, well executed.
The F8 Tanker was current in the mid to late '50s & the 10.212 artic dates from 1963, it was nicknamed "Chubby Cheeks" in Germany.

Hi Steve these are impressive model trucks ......
and it is a pity we don't have any classic British lorries in 1:43rd scale! Corgi's 1:50th scale range is out on a limb and we can't pose them with their 1:43rd Vanguard range!
Thanks for posting!

I quite agree Chris, it is a shame that Corgi's lorries are 1:50
Whilst the scales may seem quite close, the discrepancy when placing a 1:43 car or van next to a 1:50 truck (or indeed bus) is rather noticeable. Sadly, this means, no UK trucks in my collection - plenty of German & French ones though, thanks to Minichamps, Schuco, Premium Classixxs & Norev.
Great trucks, but in another direction. . .
Just 4 inches long and nearly 1/43 is this police patrol, a Savoye slush model (North Bergen, New Jersey). The company manufactured toys 1930-36. This one is all original, so please excuse its condition. Stephen's trucks are so beautiful (as is his photography!) that I thought maybe some contrast was called for. I have seen this same truck with the policeman on the back painted blue, but I don't know if it was original.

a new one from the low end 1/43 scale and purchased only a few months ago, this Good Humor ice cream truck should bring back memories. Made in China and sold under the Road Champs logo in the "Classic Scenes" line. And, yes, the doors to the freezer unit open. (I didn't notice the string was still around them until now. Sorry.)

These 'golden Oldies' have a certain charm that is ....
absent from the modern stuff! Just love that officer hanging on for dear life at the back! I hope the driver knows that his mate is out there!!!! And he is not travelling to fast down the highway!!
Grrrreat pics David!

Well one thing about this 'low end' model is ........
someone has done this truck! Could be the start of a great summer time theme! Oxford Diecast have released some ice cream vans on British outline vehicles and liveries familiar to us in the UK. Up until these were released you had to back to 1960's Corgi models for an ice cream van!
So well done to Road Champs! And as a bonus you get a cute looking dog!
David do you collect models of dogs? I remember a SR trolley being pulled by a hound in one of your recent postings! Doesn't two of a theme make a collection?

Not dogs, but . . .
something is fowl around here! Quick. Rescue the Corsair!

(Sorry, Chris, but I couldn't resist. These putz chickens are getting some foot work before going to my shelf at the antique mall.)
Agree Chris! Classic British lorries in 1:43 would be great.
I would even collect them! Trouble is I can't see anyone investing the time and money in them. As you know, Swapmeets are full of Corgi lorries which are very nice, but rather too modern and, of course, the wrong scale.
A great display here David! I am sure the Corsair will be rescued!
