These days it's hard to avoid the feeling that if you spot a model that you find appealing, it might just break the bank. My recent investigations into possibly finding a GLM '68 Chrysler 300 at an acceptable price only enhanced that sinking feeling.

But earlier today I wandered into a local charity shop (thrift shop) looking for some "early reading" books for my granddaughter, and on a shelf filled with wooden toys and plastic dinosaurs I spotted this "orphan" - a Peugeot 206 cabrio by Maisto. 1:43 or thereabouts.

Peugeot 206 (1)
Peugeot 206 (3)
Peugeot 206 (2)

I pretty much gave up on buying new models of French cars years ago, so this was a bit of a one-off. There's nothing exceptional about it, I just thought it was pretty.  I might have a struggle finding a space for it on my "French" shelves, but it just gave me one of those moments of child-like pleasure at finding something unexpected - and it cost me all of £1.50. Quite made my day.

How cool! That little Peugeot 206 is sharp looking - in its cabrio configuration and remarkable color!

I believe many of us act similarly.  Either the price is too good to pass up (whether we need it or not ) or there's just something "about it."    Congrats Graeme, but the real question is:   Did you get a few books for your granddaughter or, in your excitement, did you forget about her?    😀 😀

Books? BOOKS? What on earth are you talking about, man? Oh . . . oh damn! Yes. Another trip to the charity shop in the morning, I guess. Might pick up one or two plastic dinosaurs while I'm about it.

I love when the unexpected happens when it pertains to our little cars !
