These wonderful models just arrived on Tuesday-I am very excited to have these in my collection. They are truly gorgeous.
When I started collecting this scale I was amazed by the selection of models available by so many different manufacturers. One make that seemed less prevalent was the Imperial. There were a few available, but very few of the distinct style of the late 50s & early 60s. I added some of those that I found from Brooklin & NEO and later a couple of others. Then in 2020, GLM issued a 1960 convertible version, followed it up later with a '58, also a convertible and now the most recent is the '61 convertible. and OMG, it is gorgeous. These three were manufactured by GLM for Tom Dirnberger in special colors.
1961 Imperial Crown Convertibles in Autumn Russet-closed #03 of 60, open #031 of 60 and Teal Blue, #32 of 60
and because you can never have enough of a good thing, I have three more coming in Black & Dubonnet-can't wait.
One more thought, could it be too much to hope that GLM has a '59 planned, a '62 or even a better '63 than the one NEO issued, and a '57 would be so cool too. Maybe wishful thinking, but heck, some wishes do come true.

With this level of "chrome" detailing it would be nice to see them do a 2drht. as well.
My favorite two years for Imperial are 1955 and 1962. I would buy every body style made of a 1962.
So glad to read your review and see your pics, John. They look fantastic. I ordered the teal convertible but with the black up top. I just love Imperials.

There is (or was) a Brooklin 1961 two door hardtop Imperial. Mine is in metallic turquoise.

I have all the Brooklin versions as well. They are very special to me.
You can never have enough of this generation Imperial.

Fantastic group of Imperials, John!

And why not a '62 2 dr HT, and a '67 for good measure. The fins were tamed in '62, and the squared-off '67 looked pretty decent with its unusual 1/4 vinyl top

I would be down for any and all Imperials that were made. 59, 62, 63, 57, 67 or 68, 73. Sign me up.

Yes John, I have that one too....which prompted me to comment that the real car is so well trimmed that it needs to be done showing the chrome trim. I like my Brooklin models of this car but they scream for chrome trim.
