Two new projects. With extra time on my hands, I decided to start 2 projects. The first is a scrape and polish on a Brooklin 1959 Desoto and the second is a two tone paint on a Brooklin 1948 Chevrolet. The Chev will no longer be a woody.I will be filling in the opening left by the woody frame with very thin clear plastic so that the sides will remain smooth. Haven't quite decided on which two tone. Choices are 1) Marsh Brown over Satin Green 2)Live Oak Green over Silver Grey Green 3)Battleship Grey over Dove Grey 4)Lake Como Blue over Dove Grey. These appear to be all the two tone combinations available in 1948. Which is your favourite?

Lake Como Blue/Dove Grey gets my vote.
Good luck, Ken. I enjoy building kits, something very similar to your proposed projects. Do us all a favor and take a quick snapshot now and then of your process. Put together on completion, they make a good post. I'm in the final stages on such right now. I just checked. I have the Chevy woody in dark green and like it. My dad bought a new '47 Chevy sedan in a medium blue that was a good color. Sorry I can't help, but I'm sure others more knowledgeable than I will chime in. Enjoy!
You're telling me!
I have spent years of my life crawling round the room with a torch, hunting for tiny pieces of trim (sometimes laboriously hand-made) that have sprung from the tweezers and landed somewhere on a deep-pile carpet. Often never to be seen again.
Mind you, losing something as big as a complete glazing unit puts you on an entirely different level of carelessness. Maybe you should confine yourself to collecting large items of industrial machinery, or vintage fire hydrants? And don't try taking them apart!

Graeme: What's worse that dropping small parts on the carpet is vacuuming the carpet and then discovering that you dropped a small piece on the carpet. I've done that.
Vaccum cleaner bags can be opened and searched through (if you think of it in time, and don't mind the mess.) Been there, done that. Even found a missing bit, once.

No matter what combo you choose it will be gorgeous
1948 Chevrolet colors
Paul Patterson restored a Banthrico 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan for me in Marsh Brown, over Satin Green. This was a very popular combination in 1948. I'd go with that.
Can anyone explain how parts can disappear when they fall on an uncluttered tiled floor (dark in colour). It strengthens my views on the existence of another dimension wherein dwells the mischievous imps of small parts collection just to frustrate collectors.
Fred Lewis did a brown over green woody for me. But the brown was not a poly color. PIC
