Was it worth the 18 month wait? I think so
My Kess 1960 De Soto Adventurer arrived today, never thought I'd see the day. I think it's lovely.
Something very odd going on with Kess. Their website is down, nothing much new seems to be coming through. This De Soto only appeared with one ebay trader and nowhere else, so who knows what is going on. If it's a pre-production I can't see anything wrong with the quality. There's still one red one on ebay.

Thanks for sharing the info. The car looks good, just needs slightly major mods to be a real four door hardtop. Take out the B-pillar and resculpt the roof rail weatherstrips and have fine, open air motoring. The back glass shape is correct for a four door hardtop.

Nope.
Having seen the state of one model they were offering I couldn't trust them to come up with a good one, and they might not have a replacement for a bad one. So I passed on that seller. But hopefully more will start turning up.
After all this waiting, it will have to be very good not to feel like an anti-climax! It looks pretty good in Carl's photos, though.
OK, so it's a sedan and not a hardtop but that's fine by me. They did do a sedan, after all.

But as I said in a recent post (28494) if an eBay seller has managed to get his hands on what are presumably early factory test releases, that must mean that Kess have finally got this model into production. So other sellers (including those retailers like Carmodel who have been taking pre-orders for months now) should be getting them in stock as soon as they can be shipped from China. Or maybe one or two other Hong Kong dealers will get some full-scale production models direct from the factory relatively soon.
