Frobly. Packard.

Were the Frobly Packards white metal? They sell for a lot of dough.

I always thought the Frobley was resin/diecast combined.

However it weighs 6.10 Ounces. By comparison, the diecast Solido Studebaker Hawk weighs 3.50, the Western '47 Packard sedan weighs in at 9.10 and the MiniMarque Hawk is 10.35. Anyone care to take theirs apart and check?
The price is no doubt the relative rarity of the model.

And they're not particularly accurate

Yes, I seem to recall the Hawk's snout was a little long and Dick may be right on that resin/white metal combination thought - that rings a bell somewhere...

Jerry Rettig calls it resin/white metal.

FYP Creations

Hi all, I published the well-received History of White Metal Transport modelling book last year, and am now concluding my research for its companion volume -A History of Resin Transport Modelling. I have 150+ key contributors from all over the world who have given me their stories so far, and I am in close touch with Yves Pebernet, who retired in 2010, to include his fascinating story of FYP. It is possible that FYP may rise again - read about it in the book - it will be published around February 2013!
