I've been quite lucky in '24, being able to fill a few gaps and find models that I'd been looking for: The Franay Bentley for perhaps ten years! Wicker bodied 1929 Bugatti T46S Le Farbie - Chromes / 1946 Bentley MkVI bodied by Franay -Ilario / and the first of the Narvals 1947 Delahaye 135 Figoni et Falaschi - CMF (which I add because it is such a great stablemate for the Bentley.
@charles-rockett I love the CMF Models. They are very sharp and well done. I have the 1947 Packard Custom Super Clipper I found a few years ago.
@nickies At the risk of being a Narval bore again, the first two examples are about as three dimensionally curved, as a car can get with the grille effectively sliding underneath the 'nose'; the nose itself, formed like a baguette and the curves swooping over the front fender covers and down into the headlamps. It must be a modeller's nightmare and yet CMF have done a wonderful job on it - better than the second Narval that has the same form, (more or less) done by twice-the-price Evrat! Plus the paintwork is deep and glossy. I have their 1905 Detroit Electric and that is equally well executed - as, it seems, is your Packard.
I do like those 1950s Superflow designs by Pinin Farina, so perhaps this is my fav 2024 purchase. Alfa Romeo 6C 3000 Superflow IV by Matrix.
But those two Grand Prix Fiats by Officina 942 are such a cool idea.
I have to add a Tekno, even though I am not really searching for them. A friend in Denmark decided to not keep this older VW Beetle, so I bought it off him!
@karl This is a stunning Alfa. The colour is classy - bubble top, airy, modern and exotic - and I love the textured rocker panel trim that echoes side exhaust covers of '20s / '30s race cars.
@charles-rockett The rocker panel, good eye!!! I think it is a checkerboard pattern with open holes. It is hard to find a good image of it online...
@karl This is a curious thing, Karl. And my having a poor memory is no help, but my understanding is that the slim racing cars of 1920s & '30s had the exhaust pipe running straight out of the engine cowl and down the side of the body. Where it passed the passenger cockpit it was sheathed in a perforated metal tube to protect drivers from touching it. Below is an image of a 1954 Bugatti by Antem that has this feature at the rocker panel - whether functional or decorative, I have never known.
But when we come to your Alfa, looking at numerous images, on the right hand side of of the car, the rear end of the 'perforated' rocker panel trim has a squarish unperforated area. Whilst on the left hand side, that rear area appears as a squarish hole, just at the rear wheel opening! It looks as though there may be an exhaust pipe there ! ? ?
@charles-rockett Yes, it sure looks like an exhaust on one side only. The Matrix replicates it. You can see it just barely in my photo above, so I borrowed this better photo from someone some of you might know! 😏
@nickies That 6C 2500 is gorgeous. The part number 123 indicates that it is the 3rd color option on that one. I already got the 2nd one, and I limit myself to one color each!
@karl, those colors are rich enough to warrant another!

Don't tempt me, man! 😏
Buy it Karl - you know it makes sense and in doing so there will be no regrets!
