Cool stuff! Thanks Chris!
Mattel is taking a much more serious look at the adult collector market and their desire for models that accurately reflect real vehicles. Thanks Chris.
@bob-jackman I hope they do release some high end 1/64 - w/opening features; they certainly can afford all the R&D necessary to tool up some beautiful stuff! Why lose market share to MINI GT, DCM, 596, GCD, or even Greenlight & Autoworld? 🤔
The only Hot Wheels I'd be interested in today would be the 1/64 Ferrari Heritage set. From the videos and photos I've seen on the internet these are really nice. The sets were issued in a limited number and apparently are all sold out at brick and mortar retailers or were only available directly from Mattel. They are available on Ebay but the prices asked are approaching $200.00. That's way to much for two 1/64 models even with the level of detail they've been able to achieve with them.
@old-caddys I agree, prices do seem too high for just two cars.... I've seen this set listed as high as $500 - which is a bit nuts! 😬 😬
@100ford2003 Correct Steve.... "listed" and "actual selling price" are not synonymous.
Sellers can list anything at any price. Actual eBay sold prices range from $150 - $170. Therefore, the average selling price (obviously ) is $160. Still, that's $80 a car. I realize Ferrari's licensing fees are not cheap, but..... 😬 😬
Perhaps in 5-10 years, these sets will sell for $300... ?? 🤔 🤨
Quite a selection!
