My Skaledale Diorama is as good as completed. However, I will add a few details like vegetation and accessories for the Country Garage in due course.

In this thread I will be showing a variety of small scale vehicles, figures and accessories that will be actual 1:64th scale or relate closely to this scale.

The first model is the Matchbox Superfast 12 Land-Rover Series IIA Safari LWB 12-seater Station Wagon.

This Superfast version was issued in 1970 and lasted just one year in the Matchbox 1-75 series. It was a replacement for the regular wheel version that was issued in January 1966. In the Matchbox catalogues the scale is quoted as 1:72nd but the actual scale is closer to 1:64th scale and is therefore similar in size to the MiniGT L-R Defender 110 which has a wheelbase of 110”. The Series IIA Safari LWB wheelbase is 109” but this relates to a 0.04mm difference from 110” in 1:64th scale and I don’t have either the measuring instrument or the eyesight to go down to this level of accuracy.

The model is photographed outside the Skaledale terrace houses R8621 Left Hand Mid-Terraced and R8622 Right Hand Mid-Terrace.

Tomica Limited Vintage (TLV) LV-25b Isuzu Hillman Minx and Tri-ang Minic Motorway M1555 Motor boat and trailer

In this image we have another view of the Tomica Limited Vintage (TLV) LV-25b Isuzu Hillman Minx and this time it is joined by a Minic Motorway M1555 Motor boat and trailer. I noticed a colour match so thought they be good together.

The Isuzu Hillman Minx was issued in 2006. There were a few released in a range of colour ways with LV-25b featuring a white upper and blue lower body with the interior upholstery being blue and white. This model is aimed at collectors and is to 1:64th scale and features working suspension.

The Minic Motorway M1555 Motor boat and trailer was part of Tri-ang’s Mini Motorway slot car system which integrated with their OO Gauge Railway system. However, the vehicles in the Minic Motorway range were to a larger scale and pretty close to 1:64th scale. The reason being that the cars and lorries were motorised to work on the slot track and a larger scale was required to accommodate this electric motors.

Minic Motorway was introduced in 1960 and lasted until 1971 which was the year that the holding company Tri-ang ceased trading.

The models are photographed outside the Skaledale R9632 Golden Dragon Chinese Takeaway, R8621 Left Hand Mid-Terraced and R8622 Right Hand Mid-Terrace.

Here we can see the interior and the detail Tomica put into their Limited Vintage range.

For this photo I used a Smallrig Video Light to provide an impression of a street lit in the evening.
