...flybys. Not my video but I live just off of Hwy 129. It's called the Tail of the Dragon because that portion of it boasts 318 curves in 11 miles and resembles a dragon's tail from above.

Tail of the dragon all right! A guy would have to stay well focused and watch the other drivers like a hawk!
It is a bear to drive. Narrow, constantly moving left to right and back again; up and down and never a straight for more than a second or two. It is demanding.
My son has done this a number of times when he had his Nissan GTR. I need to try it one day with my Challenger.
Reminds me of home, driving in the Adirondacks. Probably just as dangerous.
Driving the Parkway between Gatlinburg and Cherokee is pretty demanding too.
A big time Vette destination/event...looks like fun.

Yes, you are right John. I drove it several times with my Z06 when in the Corvette Club. Numerous times with the RAGS (Roadster Association of Great Smokies) Club with the Miata's and many times in street cars. Drove a portion of it a thousand times in the pick up to go kayaking.
Drove it once in 1968 in a rental car but don't remember the make. A friend drove it in his 40' motor home pulling a Jeep.
I love the first generation Fit at the end! We've driven our 3rd gen the length of Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Natchez Trace, and the Cherohala Skyway (plus adjoining local roads), and it's been a blast!
Any excuse to post>>>
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
very dangerous, as semis come here, too.

The 18 wheel tractor-trailers have been a problem on the Dragon since I first moved here from Nashville, 32 years ago. Before the semi finished his turn the trailer was completely in the other lane. It took some time but as a couple of years ago, they were banned from this TN portion of Hwy 129 to N.C.
