I always enjoy these old ads; especially the prices of the used cars!

What beautiful cars and trucks in this print ad from back then ! If only it were possible to go back in time and obtain these brand-new vehicles at those prices to magically store until now.

...that's a late '56  ad because the word "Packard"  has been added to "Clipper."

Clippers started 1956 as a sperate make.  Nowhere on early production cars did a Packard script  appear; one was added later to the trunk after customers complained.  They wanted others to know they were driving a Packard.

Also, there's a Packard Executive in this ad.    Trying all they could to garner sales, SP-MNGMNT grafted Packard front clips to Clipper Customs as a mid-year offering.  Of course, all this proved too little too late,  and well, you know....  😞 😞

- For over 20 years, I owned a '56 Clipper Custom Sedan; it was built like a tank - the doors shut like bank vaults.

As a kid, I used to cut these ads out of the evening paper daily.  I kept them in a notebook and played car dealer in my room.  I had several years of them, but they were lost in our house fire on February 17, 1971.  Odd that it's 55 years tomorrow of that fire.  I also lost my sixty-one 1:25 scale plastic models that all melted.  As a 20 year old, this was devastating.

..."devasting"  at any age.     So sad. 😔 😔
