Last July JK posted a "What if?" pic of a Mercury Cougar with a Mustang rear roof grafted on. A very nicely crafted piece of metal-bashing which a number of people approved of.

Mercury Cougar original chop

While doing a little bit of photo editing yesterday - mainly experimenting with the tricky business of how to reproduce new chrome trim around windows - I pulled up that photo and played around with it to produce a new variant. Initially I ignored the problem of access to the boot/trunk, but then I added some more detail to make it a "liftback" (which might or might not be practical in body engineering terms, but hey, it's just a styling concept.)

You may or may not find the result appealing. It was just fun to try.

I also did a version with more prominent red rear lights, which may make it better or worse, depending on taste.

...said the shooter to the judge just before sentencing.

All kidding aside, that's some very nice work, Graeme!

Excellent work - way beyond my and my computer's abilities. I am still enthralled by the first pic, here, but with the last pic's taillights!
