"I'm strong to the finish
cause I eat my...chicken?" I thought he ate spinach. But hey, in this day and age - who really knows.
@perrone1 Either chicken or spinach, he's strong to the finish....he's Popeye The Sailor Man....toot toot!
@jack-dodds Well; blow me down. I always wanted a pipe like his so I could make it toot. Gosh, I was what, when I watched him, 9?
*According to Boomer Magazine, Popeye hit TV in 1956. Yep, I was 9.
Because of Popeye I ate my spinach and loved it. Canned of course - it was the 1950s. (I'm 70.)
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Always loved when Popeye said, "That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more"...and then he'd down the can of Spinach to take care of Brutus (who in some earlier episodes was Bluto). Yuk, yuk, yuk.

Yes sir - it was Bluto way before he became Brutus. But named anything else, he'd still have eyes for the Olive Oyl.

Just like our cars, music, and TV, the Cartoons of our youth were also worth watching. They weren't brainless like the ones fed to kids today.
