1) Anthony Schmidt, like Michael Paul Smith, uses mass-produced diecast vehicles.
2) Michael Paul Smith, not unlike Ken Burns - of PBS documentary fame - rewrote the book. MPS used mostly 1/24 DM & FM vehicles AND extremely well crafted & precise 1/24 buildings. He understood "scale." He was a master modeler whose scratch-built structures fooled thousands if not millions.
He, quite literally, taught ALL of us how to "force the perspective" with minimal effort. He will remain the best there ever was at scale illusion photography.
3) The person who built this Chrysler-Plymouth Dealership used 1/25 plastic scale models and a fabricated the building, etc.
4) I appreciate the compliment on my "vintage Police photo," but there's NO WAY I should even be mentioned in the same sentence as any of these guys. Thanks, but....
NOBODY EVER DID IT BETTER than Mr. Smith. This tiny sample doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. As many of you know, before his death, he published a book but was then inundated by hundreds who wanted to visit "Elgin Park." MPS, had to explain that the entire city didn't exist, it was only the miniature 1/24 world he created.
Yep; these look real. Even knowing so, it's hard to dispute!
@chris Good stuff Chris especially number one and number six.
All looking real!

@100ford2003 ....well, thanks. There are many clues to give away my trickery but considering that was once a $10 model (by Motormax ) I'll accept your praise. 😀 😀 😀
I'm pretty sure I still have that model in that beautiful silvery- green color. Motormax did an outstanding job on a model that, I think, no one ever asked for 😂
