Sure is a darn good looking car!!!
I learned to drive on our 1968 Rebel 770 that was one step down from the SST. It looked like this sans scoop and vinyl roof...and V8. Power nothing. Good looking car; I always liked it.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I liked the 1967 Ambassador.
That was the year they moved the Marlin to the full-size chassis and made it a much better-looking car.
I thought the '65 Marlin was ungainly in comparison.
Then of course, there is the AMX, Javelin, Rebel Machine....

@jkuvakas I agree with you on all points. I saw a junky 65 Marlin on the NYS Thruway last year. I swear it was uglier than almost any car out there. Being in tough shape did not add to its charm. The red one in your picture above looks pretty decent but, yes, it is ungainly.
@whodeytink, that design in '65 came from trying to squeeze that fastback onto a mid-size frame. By the time they got it right in '67, the damage was done.

The SST is a good looking package.

The Marlin was not a good design.

I'd took one in 1/24 in a heartbeat.💯
With obvious GTO & Roadrunner design language; AMC Rebels weren't bad looking- AMC stylists did a good job. 😎 😎
