Another set back due to the virus. Recently we had some flood damage to our home that resulted in about $15K worth of damage. Found a contractor who works with gloves, masks and sanitizer. Home Depot called Yesterday to tell us that the 62 boxes of flooring and 2 toilets finally came in and they will be happy to deliver it all . . .
Curbside.
They will not go inside our home.
crap crap crap good news is,you gotta be just about OUT of bad news!!!.....
Will HD allow your contractor to pick up the product in his own truck or,possibly,in one of their rental straight trucks?
will HD,even though they use the term"curbside",put the product in your driveway?.....will it,or can it,be palleted by the HD delivery people?....if so,would it be feasible for you to have a friend/ relative/neighbor cover the flooring pallets with hi-grade poly sheets and anchor them with shovels of yard dirt around the edges to keep out the weather until your contractor can safely re-locate them?
Frank get with your contractor and see if he can perhaps move the materials from curbside to either inside your home or garage, probably will want a little extra $ for doing that but it may be worth it. Or you can ask him if the order is ready at the store if can go pick it up instead of having Home Depot deliver.
We had to have the flooring delivered inside of our home so that it can become acclimated. Our contractor agreed to pick up from H/D and deliver inside of our home for a price that makes me think I want to open delivery service.
