One of my car buddies lives across the street from these VWs and they haven't moved in years. I'm guessing the one on the lawn is a Beetle, can't really tell because it's covered (haha). Judging by the windshield, I don't think the 2010 Jetta gets used much. The VW Transport is somewhere between a 1973 and 1979, I can't tell the difference, they all look alike to me. The body rot is pretty bad on the front end around the vent and windshield, a common place for rust on these vans.

Everywhere I have lived, people keep junk in their garages and nice, sometimes new, cars in the driveway. Maybe I'm the one who's nuts, but I have always kept my cars in the garage and junk hauled away. Love the series Pete!

@perrone1 I must ne nuts too as that's what I do except for all these boxes these models cars came in.

John, you're probably right. A derelict car sitting in the driveway is a possible sign that the owner has a hard time parting with anything. Two derelict cars is a sure thing. And Bob, I would love to see what's in the garage too! Tony, I agree with you, garages are for cars!

Yeah; and I hate it. A lot of that is due to the popularity of "Garage-front" homes. Very convenient but I hate that too. In Texas, especially the Dallas - Ft. Worth area, our houses had streets in front of the house but garages and alleyways in the back. The derelict cars, garbage cans and trash, are in back where the pickups are made. The front of the house is clean and appealing.
I've had houses with side-entry and rear-entry garages and love them. I currently live in a garage-front. Two car garage on street level, one car garage around back on subterannean level. Aaarrggghhhh!

@sizedoesmatter John, that's a Mazda3 parked in the small garage. Garages in front are common in home built since the mid-fifties here. I imagine the thinking was they are more convenient especially, with the advent of the two-car households and garage door openers. Older homes have garages in the back yard with a long driveway up the side of the house. That was fine with one car, but with two it could be a problem.
My garage door used to face the street and that bugged me because everyone who drove by could see inside when the door was open. I enlarged it to a side-in 3-car garage which helped solve that issue a bit. It also gave me a driveway that could hold 5 cars rather than just 2. 🙂
