The '62 Oldsmobile Starfire had a distinctive look and style that will always be revered. It was the most beautiful Oldsmobile of the sixties.

They were GREAT looking cars
George; I absolutely agree the '62 Oldsmobile Starfire was hands down the best lookin Olds of the decade. It came in some fabulous colors too (a few shown below), and the trim really made them pop. The ad you posted showed a metallic violet shade, named Heather Mist, which I had completely forgotten about....very striking!
This photo shared gives me goose-bumps! This is exactly as my very own '62 Starfire looked. It's funny how it's my personal favorite car I've ever owned, and yet I do not have a photo of it. But the pic you share could very well be mine. No car I owned before that Starfire, nor any car since, will ever have the place in my heart that baby did.

We owned two 62 Hardtops. Both were the same blue as the first picture. One had the white top and the second was the blue allover.
@bob-jackman Bob and George....what I would give to have either one of those cars....I just LOVE both colors!
...not a fan of overhang? 😏
But weren't the Caddy & Buick just about the same length / wheelbase ?
I'm a longtime fan of the '65 -'68 Oldsmobile 98. it's pure luxury...for me the overhang is part of its appeal....not a fan of overhang? 😏

George, I have to disagree with you. The 62 Starfire was not the best looking full-size Olds of the sixties. It was the best looking full-size Olds EVER!
I'm with everyone else here, beautiful car George. The colors shown in Jacks post really reinforce our views, thank you gentlemen.
George, I have to disagree with you. The 62 Starfire was not the best looking full-size Olds of the sixties. It was the best looking full-size Olds EVER!
Pete, no argument from me. Being an Oldsmobile lover as you know, I'll agree with you the '62 is the styling leader of every year Oldsmobile. And to my eyes, every year Oldsmobile gave every other brand a run for their looks.

"But weren't the Caddy & Buick just about the same length / wheelbase?"
Yes, all were at 126" sans the Cadillac at 3.5" longer.... but none had the overhang seen on Oldsmobiles - which (good or bad ) made a statement.
@pete-rovero George, I have to disagree with you. The 62 Starfire was not the best looking full-size Olds of the sixties. It was the best looking full-size Olds EVER!
Now that you mention it Pete.....yeah, I guess the '62 Starfire HT was the best looking Olds ever produced!
