Nope. sorry, still doesn't make the slightest sense to me. We're talking about the numbers 1 to 20, so what does it mean to say that the number 30 is in position 2 rather than position 4 and how has Claude decided where positions 2 and 4 are in the diagram? (i.e. how did he decide what is "position 1" in the first place?). And how can he say 30 and 32 are both in position 2, when they are clearly in different positions?
Assuming Claude is actually an AI* and not your mathematically-trained pet jerbil, he may very well have figured out the right answer, but despite my acknowledged near-genius standing in The Lounge, my inner bonobo is struggling to maintain a grip on reality.
* Yes, I know he is. And once there are enough of them around, we humans are obviously doomed.

@graeme-ogg Jimmy cracks corn because the master's gone away.....geez c'mon, isn't that obvious? Aside from that, there seems to be a preponderance of pondering inherent in this discussion; the likes of which I haven't been exposed to since Bonanza and the massive Cartwright ranch went off the air. Secondly, I think it's time we retested our Think Tanked members on the very unlikely chance that a degree of retardation has permeated our ranks. I will say with confidence though that our initial academic screening process is a vigorous one (which you well know Graeme), so any intellectual shortcomings dredged up could only be the result of overexposure to the post-meeting Think Tanked Lounge environment. Lastly, I will modestly say that I use Old Spice to deal with my perspicacity....the Think Tanked groupies dig it.
@graeme-ogg Don't torture yourself over some intellectual wannabe showoff named Claude. Any fool can put a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper in a spiral fashion. I know my guzindas...I'm not impressed or fooled....Claude is a clod. Let it go Graeme....you're better than this. Take a break, go sit on your porch and take a few potshots at the first wave of Christmas carolers.......good for the BP.
Hi Guys,
Here is the solution to the second puzzle. To solve it you have to go back to your code writing when you were a teenager passing secret messages to your friends. Remember using numbers 1 through 26 to represent the letters in your message. ie. 20 would be T.
Go to the outer circle and assume the numbers there should be 11 to 20 going clockwise. the difference from what should be there is 19,20,15,14,5,8,5,14.7 and finally 5.
ie. First number was 30 instead of 11. 30-11=19.
CONVERT TO LETTERS AND YOU GET….. STONEHENGE
Clue here is that the numbers are arranged on the page similarly to the monument, Stonehenge.
Oh good grief. I know we have more than our share of resident geniuses but i didn't realise there was someone with a Masters of the Universe rating in our midst.
One is suitably impressed, to say the least. And Claude, you can borrow Mr Dodd's dunce's cap and go sit in his corner and cool off.

Claude is very contrite Graeme, here is what he has to say:And Claude, you can borrow Mr Dodd's dunce's cap and go sit in his corner and cool off.
David Green makes me proud to be a Canadian. He makes up for the rest of us dimwits with his analitickical mind.
Seriously though David.......I am very impressed.....well done!
