My brother Ted created this '32 Ford Coupe in 1961. He wanted an aggressive look with a chopped top, leaded in wide rear fenders, narrow tires up front and big slicks in the back. The front end features a molded-in contenporary grille with quad headlights and a custom horizontal bar piece with "teeth". The color is as close to candy apple red as could be found at the time. The engine under the custom hood is a Corvette with straight pipes running the full length of the car.
I remember this build taking place and some of the details that went into its design, but I cannot remember now what kit that front grille is from. And neither can AI determine it after many, many questions were asked about it.
So, for those of you who are knowlegeable about specific 50s and 60s cars and their grilles, please let us know what particular car that grille is from. Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks and thanks for looking....
Is it a reworked '59 Imperial grille???
Thank you, Jack. It could possibly be, but I'll have to check out my model of a 1959 Imperial that I customized into a quasi-El Camino-type pickup. Now I cannot remember what grille it has, if I kept it stock or not. However, on the '32 Ford grille, that horizontal bar and teeth were added to the grille as separate pieces and it appears on the '59 Imperial grille that those elements are integral to the whole grille and are not separate pieces.
Nice! I'm thinking the grille is from a '60 Ford with some embellishments.

@jkuvakas IMO that could be quite right JK....the general grille outline is about right.
'Radical' to say the least. That took some doing! And I agree, it's the grille that'll get all the attention! Thanks for posting.
Far from the beaten path when it comes to duce coupes.

Thanks for the comments. Now that my memory has been jogged by you all, the grille certainly does appear to be from a 1960 Ford. Even though my brother and I didn't ever build a 1960 Ford car model, that particular part was probably in a bunch of other loose parts that we ended up acquiring from the neighboring kids who would give us their glue bombs and assorted parts.
I'll post some pics of the 1959 Imperial truck to show its grille.
