It looks, to me, as if the Buick is Superman wearing his cape. Yeah, it's the wrong color but the way it sweeps uniformly, from headlights to tail, it is beautiful. The Chrysler is closer to Batman ending in the back with two pointy bat-ears sticking up in the breeze. Superm....uh, Buick, for the win.
@perrone1 Wow Tony, I didn't see either of these two guys until you mentioned it but now I'll never look at these two cars in the same way again. I'm picking Superman, err Buick.
This is so difficult I haven't voted while I'm in the middle of typing. They're both bold designs that put no foot wrong. I'm going to have to tie.

Chrysler please. Buick like most GMC '59 styling leaves me cold. The similar styled '60 I like. No accounting for taste. The only '59 GMC offering I like is the Pontiac.
Is that not a '58 Chrysler...or do I need more coffee this morning?
I was just testing you guys to see who would be the first to see it was a '58
Thanks Jack...it's now a '59!

I hadn't noticed it was a 1958 either - never hire me to proof copy! I definitely prefer the Buick, but it ties with the 1958!

I like both of these cars very much and find it rather difficult to compare them as their styling is conservative (Chrysler) versus innovative/sensational/unique (Buick). The pleasant and crisply styled Chrysler can only be called conservative when compared to the rather radical Buick; I find it to be quite an attractive design and less flamboyant than the '57/58 Chrysler design. This is a close one for me but I tend to favor the more conservative styling of the Chrysler. The Buick's striking deep lilac color also makes the beautiful red on the Chrysler look conservative...lol.
@jack-dodds It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a lavender Electra! C’mon Jack, everyone born in ‘52 know’s Batm…er, Chrysler doesn’t have super powers!
BUICK without hesitation for me. It, along with its sister GM brands, Chevy, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile are the most beautifully styled cars of the Big Three for '59. I didn't include Cadillac, because as "out there" as the other four GM brands were, Cadillac took the "out there" too far (for me).

I picked the Buick. The only other 59 I like is the Chevy Impala.
@jack-dodds, I'm sorry, did you use the word "conservative" in conjunction with a 1959 Chrysler design?

@jkuvakas Well....ummm....yes I did JK, but with one qualifier........
