Well done, George and I totally agree. Those snapshots in our memory are precious memories and those mistakes and regrets are there for some self-forgiveness as best that we can.
Thanks again!

It is a Long and Winding Road as some guys said many years ago.
Very true. Thanks for writing this.

Nicely said George. As I noted a few posts back, with the sudden passing of my best friend of 47 years at the age of 61, and Jack currently experiencing (or about to ) the same dire consequences - words such as yours now have an almost spiritual quality, an affirmation and acceptance.
Each day is a blessing knowing nothing last forever.... but memories will always be with us.
Thank you George. Your words state clearly the reality of life and offer a challenge to all of us to try to make today better for everyone we encounter. Well said sir.
COFFEE and REFLECTIONSI've learned through my 70 plus years on the planet that life is a photo album of fleeting moments and memories. Many good and some bad, but all of them in the rear-view mirror, are snap-shots of where I've been and what I've done.As my mind sees the roads I've traveled, I'm reminded of successes and failures, chances I've taken and those I didn't. My head is a box of hindsight crammed full of experiences that brought me to the place I am right now. It's a startling realization that most often when I felt I was in control, the honest reality is, I wasn't in control at all. Each of the days I've lived have been a piece of a puzzle that is titled, "My Life". I've had regrets, sadness, but many more blessings that have made me who I am.My past can't be changed, nor can my future be known. Today, is the only day I have. Another opportunity to reflect on lessons and experiences from all the photos in my mind, knowing that I'd not be here without each and every one of them.My life is family, friends, random people, who I have laughed with and cried with. Some of them are close, some have moved on, and sadly some are gone. But all of them have been on this ride through life with me. All of them are a piece of my puzzle. Each new morning, while enjoying my coffee and giving thanks and gratitude for all that I have, I'm aware that without this photo album of feelings and reflections, I wouldn't be me. I thank God for this day, knowing He will walk with me as I try to get today right. And if I fall short of getting it right, I pray He will give me another chance tomorrow to try again.HELLO TODAY, thank you for allowing me to participate!

It's humbling that my words are uplifting to you. Thank you. And you are right, though sad that you lost your friend, if every time you think of him he brings a smile to your face, that means he is with you. I pray you have many smiles.
