We were devastated when we lost out beloved Poodle/Wheaton cross Otis last October at the age of 12, due to sudden heart failure. I finally convinced my wife to get another dog as she was really not doing well without her little buddy; so we got a 4 month old 3/4 Miniature Poodle - 1/4 Cocker Spaniel and he is more than we could have ever hoped for. Such a better vibe around our house these days and Otis' little urn is in it's proper place of respect to complete the circle.
Steve, he's a 6 or 7 year old Cockapoo and his name is Georgie. Georgie loves to play ball.Hi John,
What breed ?

HA! Thanks David!! Dogs aren't smart - they're brilliant!
John and Jack; thanks for the 'dog stories' - they are priceless!!
Lori and I have been married for sixty years and over all of those years we have rescued many, many dogs and cats. Never having kids of the two legged variety, our four legged variety have always been our kids. Domino, our black and white cat was a stray who adopted us about five years ago. We have no idea how old he is but he has never acted like a cat. He comes when you call him and demands attention when it's time to play. Barkley is our Yellow Lab/ Golden Retriever mix who we got from our local Animal Rescue League. Barkley is the most gentle, intelligent boy. People we know who train therapy dogs call this breed a blend and they are extremely easy to train because of their intelligence and disposition. Never met a critter we didn't like. Our daily routine centers around our fur babies and we love it.
We've had dogs over the years...it's devastating when they pass.We were devastated when we lost out beloved Poodle/Wheaton cross Otis last October at the age of 12, due to sudden heart failure. @sizedoesmatter It is devastating when they pass it's because of the love they give us throughout their life that we remember. So many people say when a pet passes that they will never get another pet as it could never take the place of their passed love. As you have learned it does not lessen the fond memories of Otis, but opens the door for you to give a loving home to another of Gods creatures and again completes your family. Bless you John.
Condolences, once again, on Otis. But hearty Congrats on the new Cockapoo. What did y'all name the little fellow? We were devastated when we lost out beloved Poodle/Wheaton cross Otis last October at the age of 12, due to sudden heart failure. Never met a dog I didn't like, wish I could say the same for people.
Here I sit with tears running down my face just thinking of all my dogs that have passed, oops CORA wants to come in.
Dog sitting my son's dog Gypsy while he and his wife are out of town. She's going on 16 years old but still wants to chase her ball!
