A Coronet is a wind instrument. A GTO is a goat. Hmmmm. I think I'll go with the goat!
A brilliant comparison John. I favor the GTO slightly only because I am more familiar with it. A friend owned one and our first new car was a Buick Skylark GS 400 which shared the same body.
GTO for me too. Its looks are overall more sophisticated.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Okay, this is weird. Why? Well because back in 1966 and for years later, I'd have taken the GTO first hands down. But as the decades have passed, I've really come to like the styling of the Coronet, which I wasn't a fan of when it was new. Time seems to change our minds and today, I'd be excited to have it. So today, I VOTE A TIE! Never say never!

AS A LIFE LONG PONTIAC FAN IT IS AN EASY CHOICE TODAY. THIS YEAR GTO IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.
Another vote for the GTO although like George, I have grown to appreciate the Coronet.
I have been a Mopar fan since the early sixties, so whenever a Mopar goes up against another, up until probably 1970, I will choose a Mopar, so today my choice is Coronet.
Love the Coronet '66 - '70 especially the '68. Of all the GTO's the '65 - '67 are the only ones I like, '66 is the year I love.
Never owned a GTO but have had a few thrill rides in a few and like them but, I have owned quite a few Coronets, LOVE them, I bought the Coronets over the GTO, so today I must choose the Dodge.
The Tiger, everyday, all day, Han….er I mean, paws down!!
I love the '66 - '67 Midsize Mopars!
