Sometimes, I get the notion that the world is far more complex than I am aware of.
I hear ya JK. They lost me when they hung that new fangled air conditioning unit outside on the car window a few years back. Brilliant but hard to learn.
The obvious solution to all of this is to simply place the table and chairs on a revolving pedestal...like JK does on his "My Take" clips. That way the guest can just sit where it is most handy. If liquor is included (i.e. Spanish Coffee) then an off switch must be built into the centre to avoid falls during egress. This is of course particularly important for ambidextrous individuals. Also, a choice of gears could be built in to the mechanism to increase revolution speed in the event a guest becomes boring or disagreeable and must be discreetly flung aside. We have some of them at the Forumite Think Tank(ed) Lounge.
EUREKA!!! My apologies but I do sometimes get carried away by my own brilliance.
When you invite someone for a cup of coffee and you are unsure of their manual orientation, you provide them with TWO CHAIRS. They can then orient themselves in a suitable manner for convenient drinking.
Of course, there remains another serious problem. How many left-handed coffee drinkers are left with serious burns after lifting the hot coffee jug by its spout? I've got no remedy for that. Sorry.

I believe the "revolving beverage pedestal" concept has already been tried on an experimental basis
but it is certainly an idea that merits further research for more advanced commercial applications
Unfortunately, Jack, you didn't offer a solution to the "scalding spout" problem, but never mind. Glad to see you are back in the swing of things.

Thanks Graeme;
This early prototype with the ceramic seat included was short-lived due to its not having the "fling the unwanted guest" feature and also contributing to coffee stained lower pant legs and squishy footwear. Also the portion size resulted in unwanted adult diaper issuance to offset embarrassing full bladder leaks.
