I am the world's biggest hypocrite. I eat fish and meat although there is no way I could personally take the life of a living creature. Brush, reading your thoughts I thought I had written it.
@john-barry JB, I know your picture is probably of a pet catfish from your home aquarium, but I gotta tell you....when I first saw it I flashed back to my ex-wife's divorce lawyer. They could be twins.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.........sounds like the same wiggler my first wife had Jack !
Why we NEVER fish at Jack Dodds house >>>> "These are the rare and elusive Sea Wolves of B.C. Vancouver Island. They are genetically distinct from their inland cousin. Their diet consist of up to 90% seafood (25% of w/c is salmon) and a pretty fair quantity of O`Henry Candy Bars. They are also great swimmers. In fact, the farthest record is to an archipelago 12 km from the nearest landmass."
several years back, winter on the OBX..........here are the results of a TYPICAL fishing venture (wherein the fish remain victorious)...
JB; Seeing that rogue wave coming, I assume that you made a snap decision and snagged that huge fish out of the wave by its gill with your free hand and chose to do a "catch & release" ......it's obviously a seasoned angler's split second expertise at play here...something a few lucky people are basically born with. You deserve to be a Field & Stream centerfold.
@john-barry Quite right about the Sea Wolves John; only found on Vancouver Island. They are ferocious hunter/fisher/gatherers, while oddly enough being quite easily domesticated; a process greatly aided by my introduction of the Hallowe'en size O'Henry bar as a "good boy" treat. These two are actually mine; named Gil and Finn.....Gil has recently become diabetic sadly; he is a very good boy.

TRUE STORY.....Jack actually Lives on Vancouver Island........Somewhat less-true>>>his wolves can be seen on many of the episodes of "Alone" that were shot on Vancouver Island......Finn still gets promotional work from time to time....Gil mostly watches old re-runs of Palladin while sitting in the Barcalounger in his cowboy pajamas
@john-barry Yep...born and raised on Vancouver Island 'tis true. I work three blocks from the hospital I was born in. I'm not a terribly adventurous person....uncomplicated I suppose....a bit simple really, truth be known.....kinda like Junior Samples. But to my credit I love cars, so it's all good!

sounds like you won satisfaction in round 01 of life
@john-barry Yes I would say so, but sadly my city is growing very quickly and has developed big city problems, traffic congestion, crime, drugs awash, etc. In short is has lost most of its charm and it is time to move away.....which we will do fairly soon. Nothing stays the same forever...I get it....but this sickens me all the same. I mentioned a few months ago that I had found a place to relocate to that is peaceful and beautiful, so I am thankful for that. Hopefully many years left in the final chapter!
@john-barry I've just mailed you some of my baby pictures and a spread sheet of my family tree JB...you'll find it riveting. Btw...if you're downing a few cocktails today on the patio, be careful where you sit; you might bag yourself a painful catch....as it were.
