not many like this left. Local mechanic where my car is serviced. Been there 30+ years. Very popular locally, and very successful business. I generally joke half the suburbs cars are in there for work.

That's really fantastic! The 'good old days' are still THERE!

We had two old gas/service stations here in town until about 10 years ago. And an old pharmacy with lunch counter with soda/ice cream service. All are closed but we have an old tire store that still maintains cars and does all that the old service station did. It is in a totally modern building but still has the old parts counter and stools, old nostalgic furnishings and equipment displayed and it still does a great business. But this station is awesome!!

Love the garage Geoff. There's still a need for this type of station but the problem is finding old time mechanics who actually know how to fix things.

Makes me long for the past.....yet again.  I have such great memories of working in such service stations as a young fella.

Worked in one of those part time evening [after my day job in '67] for about a year doing clutch & transmission replacements, brake jobs, exhaust systems, ETC. until the owner decided I could pump gas and he could save the cost of a pump jockey, I QUIT.
