the overall shape of this car. But the top vs. body proportions, ghastly fender/headlight design, ride height, oversized wheel openings and front bumper shape all detract from the potential beauty of this car. Also, please note the oversized steering wheel. I downsized it in the last two photos, again to improve the overall presentation of this lovely concept car.
As found:
Relocated the headlights to the top of the fenders:
Lowered the car:
Cleaned up the front bumper:
Added some height to the top to improve the proportions:
Kept the original top height, sectioned the body and closed up the front wheel opening to improve the proportions:
Went to a smaller wheel/tire combination and adjusted the wheel openings to further improve the proportions:
Frenched the headlights and added parking lights:
Have any of the modifications resulted in an improvement to the car's proportions and presentation?
You're getting REALLY good at this my dear friend!!
The Hudson Italia is one of those quirky automotive conversation pieces that, "Is what it is". It's a piece of history that falls into a small window of design that divides car people - you love it or hate it and it seems to have no middle ground between them
The first time I saw one, I was drawn to the weird headlights with tunnels above them. Over time I guess I accepted them as part of the strange and unique 'look' of the car. Then there was the "Big A bumper". That, I have yet to accept.
Since it is a rare concept vehicle, I'd keep it as found. BUT; were it to be a production vehicle, to improve the overall look of it - I'd choose the last rendering, Pic PS7b. It hits all the right buttons you enabled to make it sharp and viable!
@perrone1: Tony, I decided to see what this car looks with some custom touches, so here it is. Given the rarity of the concept, given access to the real car I would not make changes. So, here's the final edit:

Enjoy!
Perfect job Terry! Looks like a custom European Mercury morph! I LIKE it!
@jack-dodds: You're quite welcome, Jack. In doing the edits on this car, I now see the front fender/headlight treatment in a different light and no longer find it ghastly.
@tldaly The part of the Hudson Italia I find ghastly is its tail lights. They look like exhaust pipes with red lenses stuck on; but just one man's opinion. Compare it to the same era Mercury.....I rest my case. Lol.

Looking at the rear quarters of the car though Jack, is exactly what I meant in my post 5 above yours!
