Interesting post Bruce. Thank-you as I learned something new today.
Automobile just stopped publishing. They're offering the balance of their subscriptions to MT or R&T

I should have said, The Automobile - a British mag.
Bruce, Lent is about giving something up for the 40 days before Easter. Thus, I've chosen last year and this year to give up (donate) a car book a day to my public library. I take all 40 books over there at the end of Lent.

Thank you, George, I have no experience of Lent and haven't heard the name in years. Because of the way the world now turns Ramadan is more widely reported - as if it really matters to anybody outside the world of Muhamadisim.
When I got to think about it, I do remember from being a kid, that a few other neighbourhood kids, seemingly not many, even back then, became temporarily inconvenienced because of Lent.
I was raised in a religious family, but there was never any talk of Lent. Perhaps Lent is denominational.
Be still my heart........ Still buy hardbacks but only because of a few authors. Like I said
Three 30x80 cabinets and four 30x48 cabinets FULL to overflowing with hardbacks. Not to mention the couple hundred that I donated to the library when I consolidated my collection.
It's just easier to read a Kindle and take it anywhere I go. Convenience is the word I think
Lent is practiced by both Catholics and Lutherans. Not sure about other religions.

Most Orthodox denominations practice it as well.

Reading snippets of news here on this tablet and with degraded vision due to cateracts, its it's so easy to expand the image to a comfortably larger size allowing me to stay up-dated with this changing world we live in.
