This afternoon, my brother's girl friend called me, to tell me my mother died last night. After my relation-ship with my mother turned sour a couple of weeks ago, I heard from her that my mother has not invited me on her funeral. As a matter of fact, she has not invited any-one, besides my brother and his girl-friend. Woudln't that be a strange sight ? I find myself being the son she could always talk to with all her physical and mental problems, to being the son she rejected.

Joop, my heart goes out to you. I had a similar experience with my father. I would have to say that your mother's silence and attitude was probably illness related since it happened so quickly.
