We live in Sun City West, about 10 miles from Luke Air Force Base. We have the pleasure (not kidding about it being a pleasure) of watching these young jet jockeys play with their toys on training missions. At one time I wanted to be one of them, so it is especially significant for me as I vicariously place myself in their seat while they race each other, finally blasting the afterburner and blowing off into the sky in pairs or triples or two groups of two.
If you try to follow the sound you will never see them. They are way ahead of it.
Cathy and I call it "The Sound of Freedom".
Wow...what a terrific pic!
I love that 'Sound of Freedom' too Frank !!
I get to drive down to San Diego often and never tire of crossing Camp Pendleton especially when our troops are performing training maneuvers.
The real thrill is at Miramar though !!!

We’re a ways further east in Glendale ‘75th & Deer Valley,’ and usually enjoy the F-35s overhead in the evenings.
sometimes they come over really low and put on quite a show....👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Now that's close! Gotta love it.
