Since the Air Force was mentioned, I am adding some photos of the Air Force Thunderbirds.  I took these photos at a Rockford, Illinois air show about ten years ago.

I'm proud of both services and their precision flying teams. While the Navy and Air Force have these teams, we shouldn't forget the Army, Marine Corp and Coast Guard all of which have pilots who are well trained and necessary to the defense of our country.

We went from Starfighter, which was actually a rocket with small wings, to the F-16, many years ago when it was introduced in the late seventies.

Many went down, because of the huge difference in planes, but the first batches of F-16's had serious chafing-problems too, where the wires would strike and be damaged because of bad manufacturing...

Still, IMHO it is still a beautiful plane, just like the Starfighter is.
