I could live with the phone book and the wind down window crank, but road maps were a super PIA...would use AAA for the Trip Ticket.

Yep; what a difference these technologies have made. Like John, I used the AAA Trip Tic on so many occasions and you're still looking down at the map and driving instructions. I was nearing retirement when the GPS was perfected. What a boon. I traveled, for the most part, in my job, from Monday through Friday. I set up appointments to see agencies all over my state of operation at the time and 5-7 calls per day was not unexpected. Maps were, for SURE, a PIA, as John suggests. GPS was a Godsend.
@sizedoesmatter Used them all. John you hit the nail on the head regarding maps.
I've used all in my lifetime and would go back to all of them, except the road maps, in a heartbeat. I too, used AAA when planning a trip back in the day. Road maps were insane to look at and figure out.
And I'll add one that wasn't included in the pic, the telephone. I say bring it back! The cell phone was a great invention, UNTIL it got wacked out with all the other junk on it (i.e. texting, games, photos, internet, etc., etc., etc.) It should have just been kept a pocket phone for calling....period.
