Both are nice but I prefer the cleaner 57.

They both are nice. Not sure if the 57 has a little custom too it, as I am not that familiar with the design. But I prefer the 58 which shows a lot of class.
The '57 by a mile, my #2 Olds behind the '62. Just don't like the '58's at all.
'57 without a doubt. But, I have seen a few '58s that would hold their own. Just not this one.
OKAY...I mentioned at the top of this thread that I was surprised at what was happening on another internet page with regard to which of these two Oldsmobile's folks preferred. I was surprised that most who responded on that page were choosing the '58. But it is clear that here on the Forum where the REAL car lovers are, that the '57 is the hands down favorite. And everyone here knows, it's my favorite as well.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...but, on the other hand, Coke is far more popular than Dom Perignon.🤣🤣🤣

Love them both. I think most would agree the '57 TRULY is a far better design expression but how can you NOT love the "bloated, chrome monster" that shouts, "1950's car!"
Two ends of a continuum for sure, but that sums up the 1950's Right? Compare a 1950 Chevrolet to a '59 Chevrolet.... "night & day!"
@chris, your point is a good one. What's so radical about the designs of 1958 was that they came right after those of1957. Two extremes only a year apart!

I would buy & drink the Coke [actually the Sprite Zero] but I would not drink or buy the Dom. Hence the '57 over the '58.
Love the '58 but the '57 takes it out of the park even in that hideous color which, to my surprise, appears to be a factory color called "Accent Red."

That's because it appeals to the average Joe...."it's the real thing".
