HA! The 1950 GM PR machine in full force - a staged photo if there ever was one!
There's simply NO way every car was lifted onto to FOUR jack stands, as ONE well-dressed guy in a lab coat, holding a clipboard watched jets of water spray vigorously just inches away from his pen & paper. That guy would be soaked in seconds!
Actual seal tests involved constant steams of water, conveyor belts and an "inside crew" with flashlights, tissue paper & powder to detect even the most minute traces of water - a far less "glamourous scene" than what's depicted here.
@chris I'm sure you're right Chris but I like the picture none the less. With Galen's talent of producing life like pictures, this would be neat to see in 1/24 scale.
@bob-jackman ...oh yeah, it's a great photo, no question. It was "designed" to be. 😉 Still though, one of my favorite PR-photos is this one. It looks fantastic but you can't help but say, "Yeah right!" 🙄 🙄 🙄
Thanks Galen. One of my fondest memories as a young kid was on a couple of occasions taking a tour of the Ford Plant that used to be in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I love this one too Chris. You've shown it before and it is great. Staged? Oh, of course. but period-terrific nonetheless. ALL green!!Oh the time loss setting it up.
