How about some prayers and thoughts for the residents and everyone else caught in this unfathomable disaster... 🙏😇

Terrible mess Steve. No escape for many. Others had to wade out into the sea to avoid the flames. Thoughts go with everyone there.

What a sad disaster for such a beautiful island and an historic town. I was in Maui, Kaanapli, Hawaii twice over the years and it is such a breathtaking island with magnificent views everywhere.

I've only been there once, in 1987. It was an amazing visit.

This is an incredible tragedy for Lahaina; obviously for the loss of lives, homes and economic prosperity but also for the eradication of such an important location of Hawaiian cultural history.  I have visited there a number of times and cannot believe what I am seeing; it is truly heartbreaking.  It is evident that the flames being fanned by very high winds created a scenario where many people simply did not have time to understand how fast this nightmare would descend upon them.  Other than praying for the lost souls and many others badly affected by this disaster I suppose all we can do is donate to the Red Cross or similar disaster relief fund.  May God bless the victims and their families.
