OMG John, a quarter in 8.6!! Holy Mother of Speed. Yes; OK, not as fast as that incredible all-electric Rimac Nervera but it doesn't cost two and a half mill either!!
I think I may need a ZR1X to go back and forth to the dollar store. HA!
What an incredible accomplishment. They just don't make them like they used to!

Man, that things a beast.🤑
wonder what that would feel like! Anyone experienced those speeds?
"On a prepped surface with the standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and default aero configuration, street-legal engine calibration, optional carbon-fiber wheels, and 93-octane pump gas, the all-wheel-drive hybrid hit 60 mph in 1.68 seconds and set a quarter-mile time of 8.675 seconds at 159 mph—all on the same run."
- What? 🙃 🙃 🙃
As a passenger, I was in a professionally built 1968 Firebird H.O. that buried the 160-mph speedometer; and I was scared! But "0-60 in seconds?" No way, never!

@jkuvakas Amazing accomplishment for sure but what amazes me the most is that they can make this car available for a "relatively" low price compared to its competition!
@perrone1 Tony, you could go to the Dollar Store and be back home before you remembered you left home and before the employees saw you.
I've been in a Tesla Plaid, which can do 0-60 in a tick under two seconds. It's difficult to describe the sensation. We were at 100 MPH in four seconds, and the car was still pinning me to my seat. It's almost as if the acceleration sucks the air out of your lungs. That's not really a problem because you forget to breathe anyway. All you can do is hold on and hope you can survive.
Now, we have several cars that are even faster. I'm not sure we can discern the difference between 1.99 seconds and 1.68 seconds, but I'd like to try.
The way things are going, we should soon have a car that can accelerate to 60 before it leaves the line! I believe we have the rudiments of a time machine at hand!!

My Z06 was lightly modified and at a sanctioned drag strip was in the 11's. You don't have a chance to feel what it is like because you are so focused on what your doing - it was a six-speed. The ZR1X is auto. I'll tell you though, the difference between an 11 second quarter and an 8 is world's apart.
The fastest car I was ever in was a friend's replica Cobra 427. It had a touch over 500 ponies and we found a nice open stretch of road with over a mile straight. With an Ultimate Precision RaceBox, we timed the car in the quarter in the mid 10's with me in it. As a passenger, I nearly christened his new car!!
