After all this time collecting I thought maybe I should get around to making some sense of what I’ve been doing. I decided to make a list of my models with some pertinent info. iI’ve never been good at organizing so I’m kind of proud of myself so far. I don’t have a large collection, under 100 models, but it was still quite an undertaking for me.

I have the model name along with a small thumbnail (photo’s stickers), the item # circled in red if limited, and the 1/of number of the model. If I have the brochure I add another thumbnail, then the model release date and price I paid. I have four large plastic containers holding the empty boxes that I identify as a,b,c, and d, if the model has it’s box I added a ‘b’ for box, and the circled box letter that it’s stored in. Pretty elementary stuff but a big accomplishment for me,I thought I would share. If I have the title I add another circled ‘t’.

PS….I have half of my models stored away waiting on my expanded display case, I hadn’t seen this one in a long while. I always get a kick out of it.

PSS…. This is on eBay right now.. I already have it,

@kevins Amen to that, lol. I do need to start something just in case. My missus would be lost trying to figure everything out. Or I'm gonna need to start thinning the herd. My son could probably sell off the diecast collection for her, but there'd probably be very little interest in my built models, etc. I dont know what she'd do with those.😲🤔

As John noted, "Great work and good for you!"     To date, here's all of my spreadsheets, logs, and cross-referenced indexes serving as a comprehensive collection inventory:

I created a spreadsheet which gives all the information about each car. I have attached a sample.  This will make it easy for my wife and kids should the collection still be around after my demise.  Sad thought there, but it also helps me keep up with my over 1000 diecast.  I have even put on this the corresponding box that the diecast model box is in.

@geno Actually, it was my wife who “suggested” that I start this process. I’ve included the info for ‘Philly Mint’ in my notebook and with the relatively small number of models I have the process should be easy. I believe that there would be low, to no local interest for an auction and my wife doesn’t have any online sale experience. By the way, after I posted here last night I decided to go back and purchase the above T & C to re-sell, and it was sold. It was on there for maybe half an hour, hope someone in the Zone got it! Check out these heart breakers I saw on his completed listings!

wow sure are. Somehow I never seem to find bargains like this. I've just become so p$#&*ed of with U.S. ebay these days and their individuals who seem to list at exorbitant prices just for fun, plus their diabolical overseas shipping program.

@geoff-jowett Don’t feel alone Geoff, I almost always see the good deals in the ‘completed items’ column of a seller.
