McDonalds Visit.

Recently, I went to McDonald's and I saw on the menu that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets.

I asked for a half dozen nuggets.

'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the teenager at the counter.

'You don't?' I replied.

'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply.

'So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?'

'That's right.'

So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets

(Unbelievable but sadly true...)

(Must have been the same one I asked for sweetener and she said they didn't have any, only Splenda and sugar.)

Well, you know, David, the superb efficiency of McDonald's service depends on a well-planned and carefully defined menu system, and you really shouldn't upset their routine by trying to order food in non-standard quantities. Not helpful at all.

Seems like the 'dumbing down' principle is at work here. These kids can't tell time on a watch or clock, can't figure out fractions and forget weights and measures. Ask about how many ounces in small, medium and large cups and they'll go 'deer-in-the-headlights'!

It's okay to be dumb but when you don't know you are is when you become dangerous.

@graeme-ogg To their credit they do seem to understand what "supersized" and "combo" means though; but they do seem to get visibly rattled when you offer cash payment.  Remember to check your change amount....lol.  Things obviously have degraded big time in our education system but I take solace in things starting to change for the better in schools; gender neutral washrooms will REALLY help get things back on track.  God help us. The obvious question is "who the hell is running things  these days and who has decided that this agenda is best for child development?"  Heads need to roll!  Now I've stressed myself out again with all of this.....I need food to settle myself down....yeah that's it.  The question is....do I want regular or supersize  fries or curly fries and what flavor of slushy for a chaser?

Hey, I feel you pain regarding McDonald's employees.  But sadly, it's that way all over with our younger generation.  I go to McDonald's a couple of mornings a week for my coffee, which for a large costs $1.83 with tax.  I've learned that if I give the employee at the window any more than $2.00 to pay for it, there is a complete breakdown to make change.  Thing is, the computer/register in front of the employee tells them how much to give back, but they literally can't figure out how to make change.  I've learned through experience by giving them a $5 bill, a $10 bill, and one time a $20 bill.  The employee gets a glazed over look in their eyes like the "deer in the headlights" look and seriously can't figure it out.  I've personally questioned why we are sending our kids to school, as they graduate not being to read well, can't do match, have no concept of the English language and can't write.  HELLO!!!

@georgeschire Just a small correction George, if you don't mind, the word Hello doesn't exist any longer....it has been replaced by "Yo whasup *bro?"

* "dude" optional
