This shown was held at the Gilmore Car Museum for many years as an annual event. The 2013 show was the 1st car show that I attended at the Museum, and it was my 1st trip to this fabulous place.
In 2016, the show that year was a rainy mess but with umbrella overhead I walked the campus anyway to see the cars in attendance. The cars have a whole different look with their shiny paint and raindrops. It creates a very cool effect.
This Imperial is one from that group. A regular at many shows, including the Red Barns Spectacular this past summer. It looked great with the raindrops.

Big and bold with the period correct toilet seat on the trunk lid. Love the color and the pics. Brings back memories of my '59 Plymouth Sport Fury.

'59 Imperial & '59 Cadillac & the '59 Continental all resemble each other, in horrific designs to my eyes. Definitely make fine museum pieces, three of the biggest, most opulent cars made USA after 1940 to date. Tooo big, tooo bold, just too much for me. Nice to see one preserved though.
I really like the color of this Imperial. I prefer the less busy grille of the '58 though.....but it is the 1959 model year! Lol.
Goodness knows why they went for a Buick-style "toothy" grille for that one year. It really doesn't suit. Previous and future grilles were much subtler and nicer.
But I like the pics where it isn't visible!
