The onus is on each generation as parents to teach their children about sacrifices made by previous generations and the difference it made and continues to make. My kids all understand and attend each Nov. 11 to pay their respects. On a lighter note.....this year my 5 year old granddaughter stood rigid and gave a very extended and serious salute as the color party marched past her; she had obviously seen this and had decided it was what she should do. She melted a few hearts that morning I'm sure.
