It's not possible to forget. I watched it live from my 34th floor office near Times Square and lived through 100 days of smoke in Chelsea. The worst were the missing person posters everywhere.

They were showing the planes going into the towers last night on the news. The fears, terror, sorry for the people who didn't make it out. It all came rushing back.

I am an architect. in 2001 my firm was designing a resort on the suez canal south of Cairo, Egypt. On Tuesday morning of 9/11 my colleagues and I were in a site meeting at the client's office in downtown Cairo. Someone interrupted the meeting with the devastating news. While in shock digesting the events we observed shouting and horn blowing outside on the street. The locals were relishing the events and celebrating. By Friday we were able to fly back to London. Unable to return to Boston we reached NYC on Monday and took a rental car back home. No, I will Never Forget.

I got informed by a family member that a private plane had apparently accidently run into the World Trade Center in NYC. I joined a brother and my Mom at a TV and watched a replay on the screen. I instantly said, "That is not a private plane..... that is an airliner !" I wondered how such an accident could happen, when a second large airliner crashed directly into the other Tower. I instantly knew and said, "That is no accident !"
I recall a day or so later, being at the family house that night and floating in the backyard pool and and seeing no planes aloft over Chicago, normally one of the busiest airspaces in the world. One solitary light was occasionally seen circling high up above .... it was a U.S.A.F AWACS radar plane watching the entire Chicago area.
