I had that dream of someday spending the same kind of day with my grandson(s).  Never happened. Kids today have different interests. Not much interest in the classics of the '30s - '60s.  They drive SUVs and if one goes down they take it to their "guy" for repairs. Same goes for their father (my son).Â
Disappointing.
To tell the truth, I drive an SUV too and I also have a "guy" who does repairs. Cars aren't what they used to be. I pop the hood and wonder what is going on in there.
