WOW! To my eyes this is one gorgeous 1960 MERCURY! In my opinion only the 1960 Chrysler and 1960 Buick can come close to the styling of this Mercury.
After the "Jetson" styled Mercury's of 1957 and 58, and the rather oddly styled 59, the 1960 rolled off the assembly line a looker from bumper to bumper.

A great looking Mercury! Back in the day I never looked at these, now I think it's a beauty.

Back in 1960, a neighbor across the street from our house brought home brand new Blue '60 Mercury. I remember sitting on the step thinking "why does he get to have such a neat looking new car?". I didn't at the time know what make the car was, but I remember it being really cool looking.

I think the 60 Mercury is a very good looking car and a huge improvement after the 57 thru 59 styling disappointment. I really liked all 1960s Mercury offerings except the 62, which was a bit less attractively styled IMHO.
The 1960 Mercury is one of Mercury's most beautiful designs. They are seldom seen at car shows unfortunately. I am guessing that only few of them have survived.
Here's is one of the few I've seen. a Monterey Convertible
and here's a Canadian version - a Monarch Lucerne
and for us 1:43 model fans, Goldvarg gave us a couple Park Lane Hardtops and Colony Park Wagons.
Here's a couple of those...
Sorry George, I didn't mean to Hi-Jack your post, I find the '60 Mercury fascinating, so I just couldn't resist.

@jcarnut, no apologies needed. We're all here for the same reason and that is to share our love of these beautiful old cars. It is I who THANKS YOU for offering some additional photographs.
Your pics add even more reasons why I love the '60 Mercury.
