I love looking at these!  This car is loaded, the only thing missing is Air Conditioning.  The Beach Boys song sums this car up nicely:  "4-speed, dual quad, positraction 409".

I've got the window sticker from my parents' '69 Caprice Custom Coupe.  I'll post it if I can find it!

Very nice find and pretty informative ! A Turbo-Fire 409 cid V-8 for $320.65 ..... why that's outrageous! (outrageously inexpensive that is, lol !)

And another $56 for the dual 4 barrel carbs.

Not a steal when "In 1969, the median income of all families was approximately $9,400. For individuals, the median income for men was about $6,430, while for women it was around $2,130." according to AI.

Love the Caprice and how it's equipped. Thanks Pete.

Thanks John for a fun look at the window sticker. Years ago a friend asked me to take his 62 409 hardtop to a show while he was out of town. The car was a four speed with two four barrels. The driving experience was very docile as long as you kept your foot off the floor but hang on if you decided to test the response of what was under the hood. At that point in my life I had never felt anything quite like the thrust that car was capable of providing... an image that is embedded in my mind to this day.

Bob, no question about it the 409 was a force to be reckoned with. Back in day, one of our crew had a brand new black '62 Biscayne 409 2dr post...a monster on the street or strip.
