Sure like the 1963 Amphicar 770.

Cool!
Like John, I have always loved the Amphicar. Some of the newer models are fun as well:
@perrone1 Hate to pour water on proceedings, but I am wondering if $40,000 - $50,000 might get a classic Chris Craft or even Greavette mahogany boat?
@charles-rockett, maybe to start! Upkeep can be a nightmare.

@jkuvakasI'm sure you're right, John, and I am not one to spend sunny days stripping and sanding varnish, let alone locating - and paying for - 70 year old engine parts. But then I wouldn't want to be finding parts for this 'Porsche' in fifteen years' time, either.
'Corvette'

OMG! Now you're talking. Give me a wood classic Chris Craft any day. I'm certainly NOT pushing this Corvette-a-boat (even though the name of the car got its origins from a naval boat). The Chris Craft is worth that and MORE!
@perrone1 Thanks for the correction of name - this is what comes of averting one's gaze.
I hear ya, Charles! Kelly and I have been up on the St Lawrence Seaway in Alexandria Bay, NY, for their classic wood boat festival. There were hundreds of Chris Crafts, Rivas, Hackers, and more. Those boats are gorgeous and elegant!

That sounds fun and very interesting for you and Kelly, John. Do you remember what the white metal boat model was that I think Brooklin did sometime back ?
@michaeldetorrice, yes. It had a wooden deck and came in blue and orange. More recently, Broolin made several models for Riva and two sailing yachts for Maserati.

Yes, that is it ! It looked very good and was really well done by Brooklin.
