I prefer the black version.

@david-green The only 1/1 version ever built was black which is why I like it. I have the black Brooklin and a 1/24 scale also in black.

@jack-dodds

I believe the beige matte version is a model of a repaint so the car could be used in a film.

Edit: https://www.google.com/search?q=what+movie+was+the+Phantom+Corsair+in+after+it+was+painted+a+beige+matte+color&client=ms-android-motorola-rvo3&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8&inm=vs#lfId=ChxjMe

It's amazing how easy answers are available through AI, in this case Google.

There was also this limited edition done by Brooklin for Modelex back in '91.

I think if I had one of these I would remove the advert decals; which I have done with several others done by BRK for the yearly Modelex show; those being the Ford panel van (blackwall tires installed as well) and the '51 Ford HT.  IMHO they look really good.

Here are the Modelex models I mentioned that I removed the decals from.  I also did the same with the '59 Chev ElCamino and '53 Pontiac sedan delivery (changed it to blackwall tires).  In doing this I probably devalued them but I like them much more now; especially considering that the colors on them were very similar to what Ford and GM offered back in the day (excluding Chevy).

@jack-dodds

They do look much better without the decals, Jack. I still have the van and may do that too. Currently, these Modelex specials don’t seem very popular.

@david-green That is my impression too David so the devaluing issue is a moot point I suppose.  The Ford panel van and '53 Pontiac SDel. sans decals and with blackwall tires look really nice IMHO...far more realistic.

Altering Brooklins is always a hot topic for some. There are collectors who believe the original should never be changed in any way. Some folks believe alterations are only acceptable if they were factory-endorsed. John White, Fred Lewis, and John Roberts are three names that seem to actually add value to a repainted or detailed Brooklin model. IMO, whoever owns the model can do what pleases them the most. The hobby is about enjoying your collection.

It is a sleek and stylish one-of-a-kind coupe ! It is great to see this one done and in this case here, by Brooklin. Without question, an amazing automobile replica to display in one's collection.
