That’s a pretty attractive roadster. I wonder what all his switch playing around was supposed to prove.

Nice. I have looked for a model of this for some time. I understood that John Day did it in white metal but have not found it listed.

What an extraordinarily successful businessman Wacky Arnolt was. Just from that brief summary he really seemed to have 'the touch'.

Great car, front end a little bit 'clogged up' but love the overall body shape. Love this part "Amazingly, Arnolt was able to deliver the Bolide (the stripped-down weekend racer) at just $3,995 in 1954 (about $32,000 today, or what you might pay for an Acura TL.)

Another interesting and unique selection John, thank you.

Thank you to John and the Forum.  A super interesting article about a lovely car of which I had zero knowledge.  At a glance I would have sworn it was made from fiberglass but was very pleased to learn this was not the case.  I loved the edginess of the fenders, which gives it a unique look; a smoother fender design would have been too much the likeness of a scaled down E-Type.  I found it a bit disappointing that the interior finish was so spartan but of course it was made principally to be a race car.  The smaller displacement 6 cylinder BMW engine was an interesting choice as well.

Oh yeah, I know that car. Haven't seen one in person or in mags or online, in forever. Superb choice John. Gone to read all the info you bring! Thanks John!

I have never thought Arnolt styling attractive and have seen several in person in the Gene Ponder collection in Marshall. Texas. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
